Okay, so Evil Dead 2 is in the top 3 of my favorite horror films ever. It has this perfect amount of slapstick and terror that makes it wonderful. I don’t care how fake the effects are in some parts, or that you can obviously see wire harnesses and things like that. What makes it one of my favorites is Bruce Campbell. He’s able to carry nearly half of the entire movie on his own. And come on. It’s Bruce Freaking Campbell. If you can’t like a Bruce Campbell movie, then you were unloved as a child.
There’s really not much I can say about the movie itself other than it’s pure fun. Now on to the review of the Bluray. There are only two features on here really worth watching. One is a behind the scenes photo montage with narration, which is good for a chuckle, but the best feature is the one on the special effects. This is fun and shows just how creative they had to be to make the awesome effects for such a low budget. And the quality of the bluray is AMAZING. It simply looks fantastic. Blood and gore has never looked so awesome. This is a definite buy, no doubt about it. You can pick it up here.
