Star Wars Getting Re-Re-Re-Re-Released….or something like that

Okay, I’m a Star Wars fan. I know, I know. Throw a rock and you’ll probably hit a Star Wars fan. Well, just when I had sworn off Star Wars forever for the second time, George Lucas finds another way to drag me back in. Not only is the man re-releasing the saga (although we know the original trilogy is all that matters) on Bluray soon, but he’s also going to theatrically re-release the films in 3D, starting in 2012, ending in 2017, the 40th anniversary of the original film.

And now for a side note, kiddies. I know George Lucas did a LOT of wrong by us over the years. I mean, come on. The stiff dialogue in the prequel trilogies, the force bacteria crap, and of course the facepalm inducing Jar Jar. But I’ve always looked at it like this: the prequels are like extended reading. They don’t really matter in the face of the main trilogy. The story of Luke is more important than Whinikin (that’s his new name).
