Walking Dead Season 5 Trailer

Walking Dead Season 5 Trailer

TV

The long awaited Walking Dead Season 5 trailer was revealed today at Comic Con, and as always the suspense levels were raised up to 11. It honestly looks as though any character could die, which means that the series is doing its job once again. Also, it appears that the suspicions fans had about Terminus ring true.

“Ha, our fans have to wait 3 more months!”

Season 5 is set to debut on October 12, which means we’ve still got plenty of time to wait (in agony). Oh, well. I suppose you could always just binge watch the first four seasons…again.

UPDATE: G4 Is Dead.

UPDATE: G4 Is Dead.

Tech TV

So, remember way back when I told you guys about how G4 was looking to rebrand? Well it’s finally happening, much to the anger of longtime fans, such as myself. Kotaku is reporting that G4 is holding meetings today to essentially announce the cancelations of X-Play and Attack of the Show, the only gaming related shows the network has left. I guess on the bright side it means they can give Cops more airtime…because that’s EXACTLY what that show needed.

The move is being done to rebrand the channel for the “modern male”…because the modern male apparently doesn’t play video games. In all seriousness this is lousy news. I’m gonna go watch Good Burger so I can feel better about life.

Is G4 Dead?

Is G4 Dead?

TV

Remember when G4 was amazing? Early Attack of the Show, Cinematech, Filter, Electric Playground, and a crap ton more. It felt like a real channel for geeks had been created. Then it shifted over to strictly gaming news, which was still cool. Then it tried to become Spike and it’s been downhill ever since. For those who were hoping for the channel to come to its senses and return to its former glory…you should probably stop holding your breath. G4 is pretty much dead now. Word has it that the geek content will be pretty much obliterated and turned into a TV version of GQ. This means that essentially the last place that geeks had a place to call “home” in regards to TV is dead. This means we can expect a lot more content aimed at guys in general and a lot less (and by a lot less I mean absolutely no) content aimed at geeks.

We shouldn’t be so surprised, really. The channel’s been on life support for years, and the nail was further put in the coffin the minute Adam Sessler left X-Play and I have a strong feeling that Morgan Webb isn’t enough to keep it going.  The real signal that the channel was heading out the door, to me at least, was adding Candace Bailey as a co-host on Attack of the Show.  She seemed like the total anti-thesis to the rest of the people on that show. She seemed awkward around anything geek-centric. It wasn’t the same situation that we had with Olivia Munn who ended up being a geek in her own right. It just seems that none of the channel’s charm is left. Last year’s Comic-Con coverage was amazing while this year’s coverage was scant at best. It seems that they’re only keeping the geeky shows on there as lip service to their original fanbase.

I’ll honestly be amazed if AotS or X-Play survive this transition. It’s really a shame… So, I’m gonna go ahead and call it. RIP G4.
