Seriously, I don’t think there’s been one year in the past decade that didn’t have some kind of zombie related movie. I don’t know if it started with the Resident evil movies, 28 Days Later, or what, but it kind of exploded. Now there’s Dead Rising 2, and America’s favorite past time (take that baseball, with your lousy bats and home runs) is back in full swing. If you even remotely love zombies, you need to check out this game. Check out the trailer below!

Remember the arcade shooter game Robotron? Yeah…that was a lot of fun. If you have ever wished someone would update Robotron, then the closest you’re ever going to get (as far as I know) is the game Burn, Zombie Burn. The premise is extremely simple: You’re put in an open space filled with zombies. Then you kill as many as you can before you die. And die you will. What makes this game so addicting is the fact that it’s so old school. It’s built around attaining a high score, and that is an element that I believe is sorely missed in gaming these days. Sure, the Devil May Cry games and the Resident Evil games will rank you, but there’s no real standard of competition. So, for the old school flavorings, I highly reccomend Burn Zombie Burn!!!

So yeah, I was a pretty big fan of the first Assassin’s Creed game. Even though a lot of the missions were repetitive and didn’t quite hit the mark it was going for, the game was still solid and showed a lot of promise. So what about Assassin’s Creed 2? Assassin’s Creed 2 is the game we should have gotten the first time around so much more. The missions have improved, the fights have improved, and the story has improved. They’ve cut out the confusing elements and opted for a more simplistic approach that suits it. The only true complaint I have about this game is that the freerunning feels clumsy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still very good, but it feels like they haven’t changed it at all from what they had in the first game, especially after games such as Mirror’s Edge and InFamous have expanded outdid it with their freerunning elements. However, freerunning problems aside, this is a very solid game, and the environment designs are beautiful, almost perfectly capturing the feel of Rennaissance Italy. You should definitely pick this up if you loved the first game, and at least give it a rent if you weren’t completely sold on the first game.

I know what you are thinking. “But Wii keeps you active!” True, but the Wii’s list of compelling games with compelling stories and compelling gameplay isn’t exactly the length of Santa’s list. And Xbox Fanboys are probably saying “But we have the bigger selection, and we’ve got Halo!” Yeah, that may very well be the case, but the bigger the selection doesn’t always mean that it’s a bigger selection of GOOD games. Not to mention, despite all the talk that it is a thing of the past, I don’t need a red ring of death. Why do I love my PS3? Well, that’s easy.

For one thing, in terms of graphics, it is the most powerful system out there. This was a machine built for gaming in hi-def, and hi-def is what we like to call in this profession “good.”

And speaking of hi-def, here’s another thing that I love about my PS3. BLURAY! The PS3 has a built in bluray player, as many people know. I found it actually kind of shocking when I first bought my PS3 that the Bluray players in the SAME STORE were more expensive than my PS3. Not to mention, Bluray is going to replace the DVD soon enough anyway, so why not go ahead and get one while the getting’s good? Besides, you won’t have to back up your DVD collection with Blurays anyway because the majority of bluray players support the DVD format.

Another reason is because, due to the Playstation store, there are several things on PS3 that are exclusive to the system, especially games that are already being considered instant classics, such as InFamous and Uncharted 2.

So yeah, PS3 had a rocky start. It was initially a third place seller, and stayed there. But now it’s either approaching, or already at the number 2 spot, mainly because the red ring of death, though a thing of the past is still looming in the heads of gamers, and the novelty of the Wii is starting to wear off. So if you’ve been thinking about it but hadn’t decided either way, take my advice and do yourself a favor: get a PS3. You won’t regret it.
